The cold temperatures that come on with an Idaho winter can cause major havoc with your homes plumbing if you haven’t taken some simple precautions against frozen pipes.  The following is an easy checklist of things you can do to keep the plumber away.

1. Remove hoses from outside sill faucets and bury hydrants as water remaining in them will freeze and cause them to break.
2. If your crawl space is vented make sure that all vents are closed to prevent cold air from blowing in on your pipes.
3. Close up any holes in the mobile home crawl spaces.
4. If you have a bathroom over a garage, never leave the garage door open.
